What is Best Foot Forward?

Best Foot Forward is a shoe fund program benefiting Dallas-based nonprofit Attitudes & Attire™, founded by CareerLink President and Attitudes & Attire™ Board Member Suzanne Collins. Best Foot Forward helps women seeking self-sufficiency put their “best feet forward,” boost their self-esteem, and present a professional, polished image as they enter or re-enter the workforce by providing attractive, affordable footwear to complete their workplace attire.

Who Does It Help?

Attitudes & Attire™ is a Dallas-based nonprofit agency dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. The women participating in the Attitudes & Attire™ program range in age from 16 to 65, are ethnically diverse, have little personal or financial support, and have had their opportunities for growth limited by a variety of issues including abuse, generational poverty, addiction and physical disabilities. They recognize the need to increase their earning potential and are eager to create a better life for themselves and their children.

Attitudes & Attire™ equips women with a new way of thinking about their worth and opportunities. The unique program expands the traditional job training curriculum, providing workshops focused on self-esteem, interview skills, work ethics, and presenting a positive self-image. After participating in training, clients are guided and counseled by volunteers to select appropriate professional clothing and accessories from the Attitudes & Attire™ boutique. After 30 days, clients return to Attitudes & Attire™ for a second outfit.
